The drive starts with a steady run east from Oviedo on FL-46, leaving the suburbs behind for the open pine scrub that leads to the coast. Crossing the Max Brewer Bridge offers the first major reveal of the trip—a wide, high-angle view of the Indian River Lagoon and the distant Vehicle Assembly Building. Once across, you descend into the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, cruising through open salt marshes on smooth pavement.

Turning north onto Kennedy Parkway (SR 3), the road straightens out through coastal woods. On your left to the west, you will pass the NASA C-Band Radar, an impressive white sphere clearly visible from the road. The convoy will stop at the Haulover Canal Bridge to stretch legs and look for manatees in the water below.

From there, the route loops back to the mainland, turning south on US-1 back towards Titusville. Retracing your path west on FL-46 provides a final straight shot back to Oviedo, ending the tour at Ford’s Garage.
